DCDEE Instructor Learning Community

In partnership with the NC Department of Health and Human Services Division of Child Development and Early Education, the School of Social Work is pleased to offer free Mental Health First Aid Train the Trainer courses to  teachers, staff, and administrators of NC licensed child care facilities serving young children aged birth to five years.

Upon successful completion of this three day training you will be able to train others in MHFA.

How to get started

Step One: Apply to receive the train the trainer scholarship to cover the fees associated with the MHFA instructor training

Step Two: Once your application is received you will receive an email to schedule an One on One meeting with details on how to register to become a MHFA instructor. Please check the email you summitted on the application for additional details about 48 hours after applying.

Step Three: Attend a three day Train the Trainer session. This session will be held for 3 consecutive days. You must attend all three days in order to receive your certification and successfully complete the training.

Once you complete your 3 day training you will have access to instructor support and instructing courses offered to other early childhood educators.
